All health records are safeguarded using secure, encrypted digital platforms and physical security measures as required by law. Only authorized individuals who need information for legal, billing, or clinical reasons will have access. All methods comply with state and federal confidentiality standards, including strict telehealth security practices.

How and When Information May Be Used or Shared

Health information may be used or disclosed in the following ways:

  • For treatment and therapeutic services
  • For processing payments and billing
  • For practice operations, such as scheduling and record-keeping
  • As required or permitted by law (such as in cases of suspected abuse, harm to self or others, health oversight activities, or by court order)

Information will not be shared with third parties for marketing or fundraising purposes, nor disclosed beyond what is allowed or required by law.

Telehealth Privacy Statement

All telehealth sessions are conducted using secure, HIPAA-compliant video platforms. While reasonable steps are taken to protect privacy during remote communication, use of personal devices and internet providers may carry inherent security risks outside of the therapy setting.

Client Rights

Examine and receive a copy of health records

  • Request restrictions on certain uses or disclosures of information
  • Request confidential communications through preferred channels
  • Obtain a list (“accounting”) of certain disclosures made within the last six years
  • Receive a copy of this notice at any time, upon request

File a privacy complaint with Inner Strengths Therapy or with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services without fear of retaliation

Breach Notification

In the event of a breach involving unsecured health information, prompt notification will be provided in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
